Abstract:
Analytic closed-form expressions for the nonlinearity coefficient of weakly- and strongly-mixed randomly-coupled few-mode multicore fibers for space-division multiplexing are derived, which depend on few fiber design parameters. We find a relative error decreasing from 5% to 0.4% for 6 or more spatial modes.
