Recent advances in neuroscience have brought a wealth of physiological knowledge on the structural, molecular and electrophysiological level of the auditory system. With this data modelling of electric hearing already has made the step from purely phenomenological models to models based on
physiological evidence. These models possess predictive power and enable model-based optimizations of CI technology, which in our opinion will open a very promising path for novel developments.
This workshop will bring together researchers from the field of neurobiology, computational neuroscience, psychophysics and audiology. For the meeting we will schedule oral presentations with plenty of time for discussion. Our group “Bio-Inspired Information Processing” is located at the Institute of
Medical Engineering, Technische Universität München and is part of the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN). We receive major funding for this conference from the BCCN (provided by the German Ministry of Research and Education).
