In this study the coccinellid fauna (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) on Nordmann fir (Abies nordmanniana) Christmas Tree plantations was compared with those in spruce regeneration (Picea abies) and maize fields (Zea mays) in Bavaria during the vegetation period of the year 2015. Malaise traps were set up and emptied every 2 weeks (8 repetitions). All in all, there were 1191 individuals and 26 species. 476 individuals were found in maize fields, 416 individuals in spruce regenerations and 299 individuals on Christmas tree plantations. There were 13 species in maize fields, 20 species in spruce regenerations and 19 species in Christmas Tree Plantations. The abundance of the most frequently species Harmonia axyridis (PALLAs 1773) was significantly higher in maize fields than in the other two habitats. Non-metric multidimensional scaling showed almost similar coccinellid communities in maize fields, moderate distribution on Christmas Tree Plantations but with no overlap in maize fields and wide dispersion for coccinellid communities in spruce regenerations with large overlaps. Habitat structure and prey are discussed as possible parameters for differences in the composition of coccinellid communities.     «
