From 1993 to 1996 local investigations on yield measurement with a self propelled forage harvester were carried out in harvesting maize for silage. A radiometric measuring system combined with measuring matter velocity by a radar sensor was used as a mass flow sensor. Location was done using differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). The achieved accuracy is comparable to earlier investigated yield measurement systems for combines. All measuring data were processed to projections of travelling lanes and to yield maps on grid basis.     «
