Abstract:
Product development can be enhanced with regard to product quality, development time and costs by service providers in several ways. Based on an overview of such possibilities, the application of some of these methods is illustrated by the development of the chlorophyll sensor MiniVegN as a practical example.
This implement is intended for variable rate application of nitrogen fertiliser using real-time sensing. Fritzmeier GmbH & Co. KG, whose main area of expertise contains laser technology, sensor data acquisition, interpretation and engineering, searched for an expert for the implementation of the central control unit of the chlorophyll sensor MiniVegN.
The engineering and IT service provider OSB AG was mandated to introduce their varied experience from projects in different industrial sectors like automobile and aircraft into the product development. An important part of the knowhow of OSB is the competence in application of Open Source technology for commercial projects.
