Agriculture is in a situation characterized by free work capacities on many family farms on the one hand and an acute shortness of seasonal workers with the required qualification on the other hand. lncreasing automatization in production aggravates this situation. Science can only insufficiently react to these challenges. At universities and research institutes, work science has often become a secondary discipline.
