Cross-manufacturer interconnection of medical devices in compliance with regulatory requirements poses one of the prevalent challenges in the context of medical device technology. In this thesis, novel, automata-based methods are introduced to lower the complexity of the conformity assessment of such medical device networks. Their capabilities are illustrated by means of a bus system composed of medical devices, where the methods could be used to perform and assess an analysis for typical hazards automatically.
