Aiming to facilitate smart factories to produce higherquality goods with faster, flexible, and efficient processes at lower costs, Industry 4.0 was brought up a decade ago. Nevertheless, Industry 4.0 emphasizes more on productivity improvement without giving the same attention to product quality. In this way, the goal of Zero Defects is almost unreachable for the factories. Lacking an affordable online realtime total inspection approach is the major reason. Therefore, integrating intelligent services such as Automatic Virtual Metrology (AVM), Intelligent Predictive Maintenance (IPM), and Intelligent Yield Management (IYM) into the Industry 4.0 platform can help to achieve the goal of nearly Zero Defects of all products, which was defined by Cheng [1] as \grqqIndustry 4.1.” Digital Twin (DT) has become the key technology for manufacturing industries to realize intelligent cyber-physical integration and digital transformation by leveraging the above technologies. In correspondence to this trend, Hung et al. proposed the Digital Twins for Intelligent Manufacturing (DTiM) [2] to assist enhancing the international competitiveness of domestic manufacturing industries as shown in Figure 1. The DTiM possesses several merits that distinguish itself from the previous works [2]. Based on the proposed DTiM System Platform, the updated structure developed in this paper can not only provide real-time fab-wide monitoring of production status, product quality, and tool condition, but also issue warnings when abnormalities occur for root-cause tracking, so as to achieve the ultimate goal of Zero Defects and Lights-Out Manufacturing for the Bumping Process.
