Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is a manifold cancer-type, comprising a heterogenous genetic landscape. Its unique tumor microenvironment is known to harbor a variety of immunosuppressive cells, including an abundance of tumor-associated macrophages. However, there is still a lack of a clear characterization concerning their subpopulations and key immunosuppressive features. Hence, we performed a systematic characterization of TAM subsets in a KrasG12D-driven model and in the two major molecular subtypes of PDAC (classical and mesenchymal).
