Grundlage der vorliegenden Arbeit war die Sichtung und Würdigung der Laktobazillen unter brauereispezifischen Gesichtspunkten und ihre Betrachtung im modernen taxonomischen Kontext. Dazu wurden systematisch Laktobazillen aus Praxisproben gesammelt und mit klassischen Methoden charakterisiert. Dies führte zum Erkennen von vier Lactobacillus-Spezies. Deren Neuartigkeit wurde über genotypische Studien bestätigt und findet ihre aktuelle wissenschaftliche Berücksichtigung bei der Konstruktion phylogenetischer Stammbäume.     «

The basis of the present study was to screen and to evaluate lactobacilli from the perspectives of specific needs in breweries and in the context of modern taxonomic aspects. For that purpose lactobacilli were gathered from samples of the brewing process and characterized according to classical methods. This revealed four new lactobacillus species. They were confirmed by genotyping and, to put those data in a scientific context, the new lactobacilli are considered in the current constructions of phylogenic trees.     «
