The CO2 emissions model developed at the Institute of Automotive Technology (FTM) at the Technische Universität München (TUM) makes it possible to estimate life-cycle CO2 emissions at an early stage of the development process, both for conventional and new vehicle designs. The model also allows the impact of lightweight design measures to be evaluated. By linking this model to the weight model developed at the FTM, it can also take secondary mass effects and their respective CO2 emissions into account in the design of a vehicle.
