This paper offers a comprehensive overview of a prospective and monetary effectiveness assessment method for advanced driver assistance systems using naturalistic driving studies and experimental system tests for a field-projected effectiveness of monetarily relevant collisions-parking and maneuvering. Research shows that this kind of collision is responsible for up to 40% of all insurance claims and for up to 30% of all claim costs worldwide. Therefore, this paper describes a monetary and prospective method for assessment based on an in-depth insurance accident database, experimental tests or simulations and naturalistic driving studies that evaluate the monetary effectiveness of an advanced driver assistance system.
