During suction gripping process of medical and pharmaceutical
products, the risk of contamination is reduced if the suction medium is
separated from the surrounding medium. For this purpose a closed
suction gripper with unstable deformation behavior was developed. The
suction gripper has a diameter of 21 mm and a height of 28 mm. It may,
inter alia, compensate an inaccurate position of the gripping object and
signalize a successful gripping process. Ten functional models were
manufactured by injection molding and then tested. At a negative
pressure of 600 mbar, a suction force of 9.85 N ± 0.06 N for flat and
9.44 N ± 0.11 N for cylindrical objects (R = 25 mm) is reached.
