Abstract:
In this thesis, low dimensional organic nanostructures on metal surfaces under ultra-high vacuum conditions were synthesized. Furthermore, some of these structures were post-synthetically treated to decouple them from the underlying substrate or to transform them into new structures.
Nanostructures are investigated by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and Near Edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure.

In dieser Arbeit wurden niedrigdimensionale, organische Nanostrukturen auf Metalloberflächen unter Ultrahochvakuum-Bedingungen synthetisiert. Einige dieser Strukturen wurden zudem postsynthetisch behandelt, um sie von dem darunter liegenden Substrat zu entkoppeln oder in neue Strukturen umzuwandeln.
Die resultierenden Nanostrukturen wurden mittels Rastertunnelmikroskopie, Röntgenphotoelektronenspektroskopie und Röntgen-Nahkanten-Absorptions-Spektroskopie untersucht.
