Humans continuously adjust movements to body and environmental changes of dynamics, forming complex motor memories. Switching between motor tasks engages different motor memories, recalled by contextual cues. This doctoral work investigated the concurrent formation and recall of motor memories, testing participants for dual-adaptation to opposing dynamics. Results showed that adaptation is based on both explicit and implicit components and depends on the context and properties of the task, such as the cue type, the task complexity or even the presence of reinforcement.
