Laser triangulation is a commonly used measurement method in industrial applications. Its strong susceptibility to errors, e.g., the movement of components due to a thermal expansion of the measurement device, is one of the main problems. The goal of this work is to increase the measurement accuracy by eliminating diverse error sources using an optical compensation setup. The sensitivity of the laser triangulation system can additionally be enhanced through the application of structured measurement surfaces, thus leading to a further reduction of the measurement deviation.
