Precision stamping presses are triple-acting special machines which have to be adapted to the characteristics of high-precision cutting. In order to attain high stroke rates in spite of the relatively low precision stamping speeds, the drive systems are designed so that the no-load return strokes are accomplished in minimal time. High-speed presses with mechanical ram drive are used for the punching of small components. Larger stampings require hydraulic presses in which the accumulator drive has proved to be particularly effective. The eight-track ram guide ensures extreme accuracy of the components and maximum life of the tools.
