This dissertation investigated student and teacher perspectives on individual differences in students’ learning dispositions. Via innovative person-centered methodology, it uncovered high within-student characteristics diversity and frequent incoherences based on student assessments, which teachers did not perceive accordingly. Students with incoherent dispositions, like self-underestimating students, developed substantially differently over a school year – connected to differences in students’ perceived internal learning processes.
