We installed an experiment to test by arboreal elements provide on the survival, physiologic state and growth of native forest species. The study was implemented in the plantation of Pinus patula near the Scientific Station San Francisco; two covering types were selected: clear natural and low canopy ambient of plantation. For each type covering 4 plots were selected; in total 648 individuals from 9 different species were planted. The native species were: Cedrela montana, Heliocarpus americanus, Tabebuia chrysantha, Cinchona officinalis, Piptocoma discolor, Alnus acuminata, Cupania sp.; Myrica pubescens, Isertia laevis. At 12 months, there are registered survivals over 90% for all native species except C. officinalis that reach 60%. The growth in
height of the seedlings demonstrates an evident positive effect of the plantation, mainly in the natural clearings, but Cupania, and H. americanus all the remaining native species grow better in
atmospheres with bigger quantity of light. Concluding that the handling silvicultural of plantations and the transformation of these ecosystems and diversity atmospheres more functional,
moreover we can get the results in shorter time due to the best growth in the native species.
