Abstract:: Spätestens mit der Einführung von „quasi-judikativen Plattformräten“ übernehmen Anbieter sozialer Netzwerke Aufgaben, die traditionell der staatlichen Rechtsprechung zuzuordnen sind. Dabei wird ihnen vorgeworfen, als absolutistische Gouverneure des Internets zu agieren. Vor dem Hintergrund der hieraus entstehenden Gefahren untersucht die Arbeit die Grundrechtsbindung dieser Gremien, sowie ihren Beitrag zum Schutz der Rechte der Nutzerinnen und Nutzer am Beispiel von Metas Oversight Board.
Translated abstract:: At the latest, with the introduction of "quasi-judicial platform councils", social network providers are assuming tasks that are traditionally assigned to state jurisdiction. They are accused of acting as absolutist governors of the internet. Against the backdrop of the dangers arising from this, the dissertation examines if those bodies are bound by fundamental rights and their contribution to the protection of users' rights using the example of Meta's Oversight Board.
