Magnetized disks accreting onto black holes are expected to be the central engine that powers up many high-energy astrophysical sources in the Universe. Understanding their dynamics is therefore crucial to better explain the emissions we observe. We present three-dimensional General Relativistic Magnetohydrodynamic simulations that investigate for the first time the interplay between the Papaloizou-Pringle instability (PPI) and the Magnetorotational instability (MRI) in thick accretion disks.
