Advancements in the development of autonomous cars show a huge potential to improve the safety, efficiency, and comfort of daily transportation. This thesis addresses the challenge of coordinating multiple vehicles such that safe and efficient traffic maneuvers can be guaranteed while requirements that ensure applicability are considered. Therefore, distributed and optimization-based control methods are derived for cooperative inter-vehicle communication setups and are validated in real-world scenarios.
