This thesis explores applications of cross-linked poly(vinylphosphonates). Thiol-ene click chemistry enables polymer cross-linking, forming non-cytotoxic networks with tunable properties. Polymer modifications create pH-responsive materials for gravimetric pH-sensing. Photochemical cross-linking facilitates the reinforcement of polysaccharide inks in additive manufacturing. Introducing dynamic boronic ester chemistry into the polymers yields hydrogels with self-healing and pH-responsive properties.
