This dataset was created to support research on process monitoring in laser-based powder bed fusion of plastics (PBF-LB/P) using infrared thermography. Its purpose is to identify characteristic thermal features that can serve as control values for closed-loop feedback, enabling reproducible part properties. Method of data assessment:
All experiments were performed on an industrial PBF-LB/P system (Formiga P100, EOS) using a commercial polyamide 12 powder (PA2200, EOS). An infrared thermography camera (ImageIR 8300, InfraTec) monitored melt and powder bed during processing. Single tracks, layers, density cubes, and tensile bars were produced under varied laser powers, scan speeds, hatch distances, and scan vector length.
