Despite comprehensive monitoring options and a sufficiently high level of anaesthesiological training, waking up from general anaesthesia is an unpredictable, often unstructured and not constantly reproducible phase. We therefore investigated the recovery behaviour from anaesthesia in a young patient population using 4 clinical markers. The clinical endpoints were analysed for their temporal differences and specific EEG patterns. These markers occurred at specific time points and showed characteristic spectral patterns.
