Die Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle Cockpit veränderte sich im Spannungsfeld von verfügbaren Technologien und politischen, sozio-ökonomischen sowie kulturellen Einflussfaktoren. Die Dissertation untersucht den Wandel des sozio-technischen Systems Cockpit von den Anfängen der Motorluftfahrt bis in die 1970er Jahre und nimmt dabei insbesondere auch die Hersteller-Nutzer-Beziehung in den Blick.     «

The aircraft cockpit is part of a large-scale aviation system, which complexity of the components, displays and controls grew parallel to the development and performance of the aircraft. The human-machine interface cockpit changed, because of the tension between available technologies as well as political, socio-economic and cultural factors. The thesis examines the transformation of the socio-technical system cockpit from the beginnings of engine powered aviation until the 1970s and keeps in particular the view of the manufacturer-user relationship.     «
