Das Ambras-Syndrom ist eine sehr seltene, congenitale Hypertrichose. Ein charakteristisches Behaarungsmuster mit exzessivem Haarwuchs im Gesicht, auf den Schultern und auf den Ohren, sowie Zahnanomalien kennzeichnen dieses Syndrom und grenzen es von anderen Formen der congenitalen Hypertrichosen ab. In dieser Arbeit wird der charakteristische Haar- und Zahnstatus von betroffenen Personen, beruhend auf der Analyse von Bildmaterial und zeitgenössischen Quellen, dargestellt. Durch die Rekonstruktion und Analyse historischer Quellen und Stammbäume konnten bisher nicht identifizierte Fälle von Ambras-Syndrom aufgezeigt werden.      «

The Ambras Syndrome is a rare form of congenital Hypertrichosis. The syndrome is characterised by excessive hair growth in face, on shoulders and ears as well as typical dental anomalies that distinguish this particular syndrome from other forms of congenital Hypertrichosis. In this dissertation the characteristic hair and dental records of affected persons are described, based on the analysis of historic graphical material and contemporary sources. Through reconstruction and analysis of historical sources and genealogical trees some unknown cases of Ambras Syndrome were identified.      «
