Aims of the study were besides the analysis of training and competition loads, and longitudinal variability of biological-physiological parameters, the identification of load determinants and regeneration processes of middle and long-distance runners.
In addition to a variable load spectrum, the individual mean average values and longitudinal variability differences of physiological parameters were identified. Training amount and intensity influenced reactions of biological variables that are not always reproducible and reflect rather acute deflections on single loads. Correlations between biological and load variables, among others, seem to be existing according to the principle of responders and non responders only by chance. In conclusion, general limiting values are unsuitable and non-reliable diagnosis criteria of load and regeneration due to individual load compatibility as well as the heterochronicity and not insignificant long-term duration of expected adaptation mechanisms.
