118 patients after severe hand injuries were analyzed in this quality of life study. All patients filled in a questionnaire detailing data about their injuries and therapies, as well as their rehabilitations, professional activities and their individual demographic background. Additionally, five specialized questionnaires were used, with which different aspects of quality of life of each patient were assessed and evaluated. The questionnaire about general life satisfaction and health satisfaction was found to be very helpful when performing this quality of life study. The results revealed an unexpected good quality of life for this group of patients. The study showed, that not only the rehabilitation of motor and sensory functions of the hand has impact on the quality of life of these patients, but also the employment and income status as well as anxiety and depression levels.
