Max Mikorey (1899-1977) illustriert exemplarisch die Zeitläufte in der deutschen Psychiatrie vom Beginn der 1920er bis Ende der 1960er Jahre. Geprägt von sozialdarwinistischen und rassenhygienischen Konzepten verantworteten die Psychiater im Dritten Reich die sogenannte Euthanasie und die Zwangssterilisation hunderttausender schutzbefohlener Patienten. Nach 1945 negierten sie in bemerkenswerter personeller und professioneller Kontinuität ihre aktive Teilhabe an den nationalsozialistischen Verbrechen und ihre Mißachtung des hippokratischen Eides.     «

The biography of the Psychiatrist Professor Max Mikorey (1899-1977) illustrates by example the history of the German Medical Psychiatry from the early 1920s until the late 1960s. Coming from an ideological background of social darwinism and racial cleansing, German Psychiatrists during the Third Reich initiated and accomplished the so-called Euthanasia and forced Sterilization of hundreds of thousands of patients. Post 1945 they denied their participation in the national socio-political crimes and their breaking of the hippocratic oath and astoundingly continued without remorse and unaccountability.     «
