Selective Ligands for a5b1 and avb3 integrins are essential for the biological research on integrin functions and might represent lead structures for antiangiogenic cancer therapy. Based on a homology model of a5b1, a series of compounds was designed which, for the first time, allowed the control of selectivity in both directions. As second topic, cyclic peptides were synthesized as potential affinity ligands for factor VIII. They might be useful to substitute the currently used antibodies in the purification of factor VIII.
