In der vorliegenden Studie wurde der Stellenwert der vestibulär evozierten myogenen Potentiale (VEMP) in der neurootologischen Diagnostik untersucht. Zu diesem Zweck wurden 1075 im Zeitraum von 2001-2004 an der HNO-Klinik des Klinikums Rechts der Isar durchgeführte VEMP-Untersuchungen retrospektiv ausgewertet. Anhand der erhobenen Daten und in Zusammenschau mit der internationalen Literatur konnte der besondere Stellenwert der Methode insbesondere für die Neuritis vestibularis, den Morbus Menière, für Kleinhirnbrückenwinkeltumore und den BPPV herausgearbeitet werden. Außerdem zeigte sich die Bedeutung der Methode bei der neurootologischen Begutachtung und bei der abschließenden Beurteilung von sonst unklarem Schwindel.     «

In this study the value of vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials in the diagnosis of neurootological symptoms has been examined. For this purpose 1075 VEMP-examinations, carried out between 2001 and 2004 at the ENT-section of the clinic "Rechts der Isar" has been examined retrospectively. With the results in combination with the international literature the special importance of the VEMP-s could be figured out for the menières syndrom, the vestibular neuritis, for cerebellopontine angle tumors and the BPPV. In addition the importance of the method also could be pointed out for the neurootological assessments and the final judgement in cases of "unclear" vertigo.     «
