- Kurzfassung:
- Bei Patienten mit Plattenepithelkarzinomen der Kopf-Hals-Region wurde die prognostische Bedeutung der Tumoroxygenierung (gemessen mit Hilfe des Eppendorf-Histographen) und der Anämie untersucht. Hier zeigte sich ein kürzeres Gesamtüberleben bei Patienten mit hypoxischen Tumoren. Ebenso korrelierte eine Anämie (Hämoglobinwert < 12 g/dl) mit einer schlechteren Prognose. In der bivariaten Analyse zeigte sich, dass beide Faktoren – Hypoxie und Anämie – unabhängig voneinander einen Einfluss auf die Prognose haben. In Lymphknotenmetastasen konnte für die Sauerstoffverteilung zwischen Tumorperipherie und Zentrum kein signifikanter Unterschied gezeigt werden.

- The prognostic value of the tumor oxygenation (measured with the Eppendorf-Histograph) and of the anemia in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck was researched. A shorter overall survival was seen for patients with hypoxic tumors. Anemia (hemoglobin level < 12 g/dl) also predicts a poor prognosis. The bivariate analysis showed, that the two factors – hypoxia and anemia – are independent of each other concerning the prognosis. In lymph node metastasis was no regional difference in the oxygenation status between tumor periphery and center.
