This thesis describes a novel stem cell isolation method using a specific type of stress on pre-established fibroblasts. As a result, skin-derived precursor cells were successfully isolated and proven to be multipotent. Secondly, two novel mosaic imaging methods were developed to image and analyze microscopic targets in macro areas. Thirdly, the novel stem cell isolation method was successfully applied for progeria syndrome. Overall, this novel stem cell isolation method will further help basic and translational research towards establishing novel regenerative therapies.
