Glioblastoma remains a difficult cancer to treat successfully despite the multimodal therapeutic strategy of surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy with temozolomide (TMZ). From a combined radiation and drug screening platform, we identified potential combinations of HDAC inhibitor (HDACi) and MAPK/ERK kinase inhibitors (MEKi) with ionizing radiation as a novel therapy against glioblastoma. Our findings indicate that this combination strategy may potentially improve therapy that could benefit glioblastoma patients.
