In der vorliegenden Studie wurden die topographischen Beziehungen zwischen Nervus alveolaris inferior und den unteren Weisheitszähnen mittels Orthopantomographie und digitaler Volumentomographie vergleichend evaluiert. Die Studie stützt die Empfehlung bei der Überlagerung von Wurzelapex und Mandibularkanal (High Risk; Nervkontakt anzunehmen) in Panoramaschichtaufnahmen auch in Fällen einer direkten Anlagerung von Wurzelapex und Mandibularkanal (Moderate Risk; Nervkontakt möglich) eine weiterführende präoperative dreidimensionale Diagnostik durchzuführen. Die exakte Darstellung der Lagebeziehung von Zahnwurzeln und Nervus alveolaris inferior ist mittels DVT-Aufnahmen zuverlässiger möglich.     «

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the topographic relationship between lower mandibular third molars (LTM) and the mandibular canal (MC) in panoramic tomography and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). In conclusion, preoperative CBCT can be helpful for evaluation of the topographic relationship between MC and LTM, especially in high risk (superimposition of tooth apex and MC; contact of the nerve is assumed) and moderate risk cases (contact between tooth apex and MC; contact of the nerve is probable).     «
