In this thesis, expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA), plasminogen activator inhibitor type-1 (PAI-1), and urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) was analyzed by immunohistochemistry in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Expression levels of uPA, PAI-1, and uPAR were correlated with follow-up data of the TNBC patient cohort to evaluate their prognostic impact in the risk assessment of TNBC. Patients with elevated PAI-1 expression levels showed significantly worse survival than the group of patients with low PAI-1 expression, which indicates prognostic value of PAI-1 expression in patients with TNBC.     «

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde die Expression der Urokinase (uPA), des Plasminogen-Aktivator-Inhibitors Typ 1 (PAI-1) und des Urokinase-Rezeptors (uPAR) mittels Immunhistochemie im triple-negativen Mammakarzinom (TNBC) untersucht. Die Werte für uPA, PAI-1 und uPAR wurden mit Follow-up-Daten des triple-negativen Patientenkollektivs korreliert, um ihre Bedeutung als prognostische Faktoren in der Beurteilung des TNBC zu analysieren. Patienten mit hohen PAI-1 Werten zeigten ein signifikant kürzeres Überleben als Patienten mit niedriger Expression des PAI-1. PAI-1 bietet sich daher als Prognosefaktor bei Patienten mit TNBC an.      «
