Abstract:
The thesis addresses the issues and challenges that arise when integrating and deploying P4 programmable packet processors into NFV cloud environments. Towards this objective, the thesis evaluates and models the performance of P4 programmable packet processors to enable the optimal performance-aware management of the P4-enhanced NFV cloud environments. Finally, two applications are presented to demonstrate the usability of the proposed P4-enhanced NFV cloud environment.

Diese Doktorarbeit befasst sich mit den Herausforderungen, die beim Einsatz von programmierbaren P4-Paketprozessoren in NFV-Cloud-Umgebungen auftreten. Zu diesem Zweck wird in dieser Arbeit die Leistung von P4-Paketprozessoren bewertet und modelliert, um ein optimal leistungsorientiertes Management von P4-erweiterten NFV-Cloud-Umgebungen zu ermöglichen. Abschließend werden zwei Anwendungen vorgestellt, um die Nutzbarkeit der vorgeschlagenen P4-erweiterten NFV-Cloud-Umgebung zu demonstrieren.
