Translated abstract:
The power density can be increased by using multi-cone instead of single cone synchronizers. During gear shifting, high friction surface temperatures can damage the friction system. For the first time, the relative performance of different synchronization designs, at the same area-specific loads, is examined on the component test rig and is described by new characteristic values. Temperature measurements and thermo-mechanical simulations are used to analyze the thermal behavior. Optimization recommendations are derived from the results.
