Kurzfassung:
In the course of this thesis the ring-opening polymerization of the cyclic esters β-butyrolactone and lactide to functional polyesters was conducted using newly developed electron-deficient zinc catalysts. In a second approach to functional polymeric material the isoselective group transfer polymerization of 2-vinylpyridine using newly developed yttrium catalysts was investigated. In both cases the studies allowed a deeper understanding in terms of reactivity and stereoselectivity of the catalysts as well as of the material characteristics.
