- Abstract:
- Prevalence of active travel (e.g. walking or cycling to a destination) has decreased among adolescents living in Germany. Motivation, as an individual determinant, is critical for changing and maintaining health behaviors. This thesis investigates adolescents' motivation through the lens of Self-Determination Theory. It investigates how motivation relates to active travel behavior and acts in the decision-making process on travel mode choice.

- Die Prävalenz der aktiven Mobilität (z.B. eine Destination zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad erreichen) ist bei Jugendlichen in Deutschland zurückgegangen. Die Motivation als individuelle Determinante ist entscheidend für die Änderung und Aufrechterhaltung von Gesundheitsverhalten. Diese Arbeit betrachtet die Motivation von Jugendlichen aus Sicht der Selbstbestimmungstheorie. Es wird untersucht, wie die Motivation mit dem aktivem Mobilitätsverhalten zusammenhängt und im Entscheidungsprozess mitwirkt.
