The Gamov-Teller beta decay of very neutron deficient nuclei in the vicinity of the doubly magic nucleus
100Sn produced by projectile fragmentation of
112Sn has been investigated. For the first time,
102Sn was studied in decay spectroscopy. By measuring the halflife and the Q-value the Gamov-Teller strength of
102Sn (B
GT = 4.0 +- 0.6) could be determined. The Q-value of
98Cd was measured precisely and the the GT strength was deduced. Additionally, the decay properties of
101Sn,
103Sn, and
100In were studied.
