Content of this dissertation is the comparison of radiation-induced alterations in L929 cells on protein- and gene expression level. Genes corresponding to proteins, which were altered in there abundance by irradiation, were investigated with „Real Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction“ (RTQ-PCR). By comparing the abundance of these proteins and their gene expression it could be shown, that there is no alteration on gene expression level in contrast to irradiation modified protein abundance. Remarkable in this result is the divergence between the abundance of mRNA and corresponding protein. An indicator for radiation-induced damage on mRNA level could not be proved
