Tryptase und Chymase sind die für Mastzellen spezifischen Proteasen. In Hoden infertiler Männer ist eine erhöhte Anzahl von Mastzellen anzutreffen. Es zeigte sich, dass Tryptase die Motilität humaner Spermatozoen zeit- und konzentrationsabhängig veringert. Diese Effekte werden über PAR-2-Rezeptoren vermittelt, die auf menschlichen Spermatozoen lokalisiert werden konnten. Nach Blockung des PAR-2-Repetors mit einem Antikörper wurde der hemmende Effekt von Tryptase verhindert. Tryptase konnte auch im Seminalplasma und in Follikelflüssigkeit bestimmt werden. Tryptasehaltige Mastzellen konnten auch im weiblichen Tubenepithel detektiert werden, so dass Spermatozoen auch im weiblichen Genitaltrakt mit Tryptase in Berührung kommen könnten.     «

Tryptase and chymase are the specific proteins in mast cells. In the testes of infertile men an increased number of mast cells can be found. It could be shown that tryptase declines motility of human spermatoza time- and concentration-dependent. These effects are conveyed via PAR-2-receptors, which could be located on human spermatozoa as well. After blocking these receptors with specific antibodies the declining effect of tryptase could not be shown. Increased levels of tryptase could also be determined in seminal plasma and follicular fluid, and mast cells containing tryptase could be found in the tubular wall. That being so, spermatozoa could also come in contact with tryptase in the female genital organ.     «
