Infiltration swales offer great potential for multifunctional urban land use and sustainable water management. However, there has been little research into the planting of these areas, especially in Central Europe. Thus, the dissertation examines the resilience of perennial species native to Germany under typical site conditions of urban infiltration swales (e.g. drought, temporary flooding and pollutant input) as well as the functions of biodiversity and remediation through phytoextraction measures in the context of three publications.
