Abstract:
The competitiveness of hydrogen combustion engines is linked to their obtainable power output. To achieve extreme power densities, various combustion anomalies must be inhibited. To this end, at the Technical University of Munich, a hydrogen research engine was modified and systematically examined for its performance potential. In addition to an achievable indicated mean pressure of more than 40 bar, boundary conditions for peripheral systems and component strengths of future engine generations...     »
