Bringing innovation in medicine is commonly an act of perseverance and patience. Prof. Nassir Navab has proven however that such an endeavour can become a life full of success. By navigating in uncharted waters led by curiosity and creativity, Nassir has forged the future of hundreds of people and changed the face of Computer Aided Medical Procedures and Augmented Reality at a global level. This review, rather anecdotal and incomplete summarizes the journey of Nassir making out of his passion a path of innovative research and successful mentoring.
