Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) provide means for cryptographic key derivation based on a physical token that is subject to inherent manufacturing variations. In this work, a new PUF construction is established that outputs symbols of a Higher-Order Alphabet. This type is particularly useful to implement an Access Denial System that limits physical access by an attacker to make extraction of secret information difficult. The thesis covers the physical structure, the measurement principle, quantization, and error correction.
