Expression of two proteases (KLK11, KLK15) was quantified in tumor tissue of patients afflicted with advanced high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC). Additionally, KLK11 levels were determined in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) tissues. Both elevated KLK11 mRNA and protein levels were identified as independent favorable prognostic biomarkers for progression-free (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in HGSOC, elevated KLK15 mRNA levels were linked with prolonged OS. In turn, in TNBC patients, higher KLK11 mRNA levels were significantly associated with worse OS.
