This research aims to restructure historic cultural landscapes as permanent forms and green-blue infrastructure in metropolitan areas of the Yangtze River Delta region. A typological approach was developed to map, describe and classify landscape character areas and types. Die vorliegende Arbeit erforscht, wie in Metropolregionen des Yangtze River Delta historische Kulturlandschaften als permanente Formen und grün-blaue Infrastrukturen restrukturiert werden können. Hierzu wird eine typologische Methode zur Kartierung, Beschreibung und Klassifizierung von Charakterlandschaften und -typen entwickelt. Am Beispiel von Suzhou werden vier Landschaften anhand ihrer grundlegenden Morphologien und Polder-Techniken unterschieden, für die jeweils spezifische Maßnahmen des Erhalts, der Transformation und der ‚kritischen’ Rekonstruktion entwickelt werden können.     «
